The Bystraja ( Russian Бы́страя ) is a left tributary of the Siversky Donets in the southern Russian Oblast of Rostov .
The Bystraja rises east of Morozovsk . It flows in a westerly and later in a southerly direction through a flat landscape in the east of Rostov Oblast and flows after 218 km on the left into the lower reaches of the Siversky Donets. It drains an area of 4,180 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . In summer, the upper reaches of the Bystraja and the tributaries of the Bystraja often dry out.
