Cédric Heymans (born July 20, 1978 in Brive , Corrèze department ) is a French rugby union player . He plays as the outside three quarters or goalkeeper for Aviron Bayonnais and the French national team .

Heymans started his career at CA Brive , with whom he won the Heineken Cup in 1997 . He then moved to SU Agen , where he played for one season. He was then signed by Toulouse, where he has since established himself as a top international player.

He made his debut for the French national team in 2000 when he came on as a substitute in the Six Nations game against Italy . In the same year he still played against Romania , but then had to wait until the summer of 2002 to get another assignment. His first attempt was against South Africa in the winter of 2002. At the end of this season he was able to celebrate winning the Heineken Cup again , this time with Toulouse.

In 2004 Heymans came to four more appearances in the national team jersey and was there among other things in the win against Australia . With Toulouse he reached the final of the Heineken Cup again, but had to admit defeat to the London Wasps . Also in the following season he made it to the finals in the European Cup, with the victory of his team Heymans became the first player to win the competition three times.

The following season Heymans was part of the squad of the French national team that won the Six Nations . He got two attempts against Ireland . Also in the autumn at the games against the All Blacks and South Africa, he was able to put attempts. France then won the Six Nations in 2007 , Heymans appeared four times and was also nominated for the World Cup . At first he acted as the final player, but after the opening defeat against Argentina he switched to the outside three-quarters position and reached the semi-finals with France.

At the Six Nations 2008 Heymans was used again as a goalkeeper. This year he was the first player to reach the fifth final in the Heineken Cup, in which Toulouse, however, had to admit defeat Munster . In the 2011/12 season he moved to Aviron Bayonnais .
