C'est la vie is a song by the Algerian Raï singer Cheb Khaled . It was released in July 2012 through Universal Music , Division AZ, and produced by the Moroccan music producer RedOne . In France it became a summer hit in 2012; it was able to position itself in the top 20 of the French hit parade. The song is the first single from the 2012 album of the same name " C'est la vie ".

The song is bilingual, with Khaled singing the chorus in French while the verses are sung in Algerian . After Khaled didn't release a single for three years, C'est la vie marks a comeback for the Roi du Raï (King of Raï). This comeback is also thanks to the memorable melody produced by RedOne . RedOne calls out his name at the beginning of the song. The song repeats the following text in the chorus:

"On va s'aimer (We will love / like each other)
On va danser (We will dance)
Oui c'est la vie (Yes, this is life)
Lala, lalala .."

In 2013 the song was covered by singer Marc Anthony under the Spanish title Vivir Mi vida and in 2014 by singer Ina Colada under the German title Ola Ole .

Chart success

After the song was released in July 2012, it rose to number 30 on the French Singles Chart (SNEP). It was later able to reach fourth place. Outside of France, the song has also become very popular in the French-speaking part of Canada , especially in Québec . In Belgium and Slovakia , the song was able to position itself in the top 10.
