Christopher "CJ" Henderson, Jr. (* thirtieth September , 1998 Miami , Florida ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the cornerbacks for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Florida for the Gators .

Early life and high school

Henderson was born and raised in Miami, Florida and attended Christopher Columbus High School. He played for the Explorers as both running back and cornerback and was invited to the All-America Bowl as a senior. Ranked as a four-star talent, he initially wanted to play at the University of Miami before withdrawing to consider other offers. Henderson eventually went to the University of Florida to play.

college

As a freshman, Henderson appeared in 11 games for the Gators with five starts, scoring 22 tackles and four interceptions . He was the first freshman in Florida history to score a touchdown after an interception in two consecutive games . He succeeded in his first two career games against Michigan and Tennessee . In his sophomore year, his first full season as a starter, Henderson recorded 38 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions. He was also elected to the second team All- Southeastern Conference by the league's coaches .

Henderson began his junior season as a member of the first team in the All-SEC selection, the third team in All-America, and on the watch list for the Bednarik Award. Henderson was also called up by the Associated Press in the middle of the season in the second team All-American, although he was out of four games due to injury. Henderson finished his junior season with 33 tackles (three for loss), one sack, and 11 intercepted passes in nine games and was named to the first-team All-SEC by the league's coaches and the second-team All-American by the FWAA .. After the end of the regular season, Henderson announced that he would be giving up his final year in order to participate in the 2020 NFL Draft and thus also skipping Florida's bowl game . Henderson ended his college career with 93 tackles, 26 interceptions, and six interceptions in 33 games played.

Professional career

Henderson was selected ninth by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020 NFL Draft .
