Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains ( C2B3 ) was a supergroup consisting of bassist Les Claypool , guitarist Buckethead , keyboardist Bernie Worrell and drummer Bryan "Brain" Mantia .

history

Les Claypool, bassist for Primus , among others , formed the band Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains with guitarist Buckethead, keyboardist Bernie Worrell and ex-Primus drummer Bryan Mantia, a combination of the names of the band members after the members joined the Bonnaroo Festival. Worrell, Mantia and Buckethead attended this festival to play with Bill Laswell in the band Praxis . Laswell was unable to hold the concert, so Claypool invited the rest of the members to jam with him. From then on, the concept of the supergroup continued to develop. At their other concerts they kept improvising without having prepared or rehearsed any material beforehand.

Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains reunited in 2004 to record The Big Eyeball in the Sky , an album that included instrumental parts and pieces with vocals. The band began a tour of the United States on September 24, 2004 and toured 18 states. On the album was a guest with the Gabby La La to be heard. This was recorded with the name Gabby Lang on the album. Gabby La La was heard on the song Purple Onion as a singer and on the sitar . She also opened every gig on the 2004 tour.

style

The band plays a mix of funk , metal , punk , rock , jazz and psychedelic rock . The members all play at a very high technical level.
