The group officially debuted on March 19, 2015 with the mini-album First Love. The CLC currently consists of seven members: Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn, Yeeun, Elkie and Eunbin. The group's official fan club name is "Cheshire".

history

2015: Debut with First Love and Question

CLC officially debuted on March 19, 2015 with the single Pepe and the mini-album First Love . First Love rose to number 9 on the Gaon Albums Chart. At that time the group still consisted of five members: Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn and Yeeun. On April 16th, CLC released their next single, Eighteen . However, the single was only offered for download and could not position itself in the Gaon Charts . A few weeks later, on May 28th, the next mini-album, Question, followed along with the single Like ( 궁금해 ) . Like First Love before, Question was able to position itself at number 9 on the charts. Like only made it to number 173.

2016: New members, refresh and debut in Japan

On February 26th, Cube Entertainment announced that CLC would return on February 29th with a new mini-album Refresh , the single High Heels ( 예뻐 지게 ) and two new members. A day later, the two newcomers were known by name: Kwon Eunbin and Elkie Chong from Hong Kong .

At that time, Eunbin was still a participant in the survival show “Produce 101” and therefore could not have joined CLC for contractual reasons. Cube Entertainment explained the situation as follows: Eunbin actually already belonged to the group in 2015, but was downgraded to a trainee when the release of the new album was delayed again and again. She then became a participant in "Produce 101" and therefore could not have joined the group until she was selected from the show. As a result, all scenes with Eunbin were removed from the already filmed music video for high heels and taken over by other members. Eunbin had to leave "Produce 101" the penultimate episode, and the original music video was released on March 21st.

On April 13th, CLC officially debuted in Japan with the mini-album High Heels and the single of the same name.

On May 30th, the group released their fourth mini-album in Korea, Nu.Clear, along with the single No Oh Oh ( 아니야 ) . However, the sale of the CD was postponed to June 3rd. The CDs were scrapped and re-produced. Cube Entertainment said in a statement that those responsible were not satisfied with the production and that they therefore decided to take this step. This is the first comeback with all seven members and they want to offer the fans better quality. Nu.Clear reached number 16 on the charts.

On July 27th, CLC's second mini-album was released in Japan: Chamisma .

On December 27th, Cube Entertainment announced that CLC would release a new mini-album in January 2017. It also said that the group would return with a completely new concept.

2017 – today: Crystyle, Black Dress and No

On January 27, 2017, CLC released their fifth mini-album Crystyle together with the single Hobgoblin ( 도깨비 ) . HyunA (ex-member of the Wonder Girls and 4Minute ) was responsible for parts of the text of Hobgoblin . She also helped the group with the styling and choreography of the music video. Crystyle made it to number 10 on the charts.

On August 3rd the sixth mini-album Free'sm came along with the single Where Are You? ( 어디야? ) On the market. Here, too, a change of concept took place. Free'sm reached number 10 on the charts.

On February 1, 2018, the digital single To the Sky was released as a pre-release for CLC's seventh mini-album. The album, called Black Dress , was released on February 22nd along with the single of the same name.

The eighth mini-album No. 1 was published on 30 January 2019 together with the single No . With No , CLC achieved their first victory at a music show.
