CSA T20 Challenge 2016/17
The CSA T20 Challenge 2016/17 was the 14th season of the South African Twenty20 Championship in cricket and took place from November 12 to December 16, 2016. The six franchises that are also active in first-class cricket in South Africa took part in the tournament . In the final the Titans were able to fight the Warriors with 6 runs.

prehistory
Cricketer Kevin Pieterson announced that he would play for the Dolphins again . It was also announced that he would only play the last 5 matches of the preliminary round and that the play-offs with the final should the Dolphins make it that far. Furthermore, many South African players have canceled the first half of the tournament because the South Africa tour to Australia 2016/17 overlapped with the tournament schedule. On September 2, 2016, it was announced that the previous main sponsor had withdrawn and the tournament was renamed.
format
In the group stage, each team plays against each other. The winner receives 2 points, 1 point in the event of a tie and 0 in the event of a defeat. After the preliminary round, the first in the table will advance directly to the final, while the second and third place will play in a semi-final for the final.
