The CWS-boco Group is a Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH based in Duisburg and is dedicated to the rental and sale of washroom hygiene solutions and workwear .

history

The company history of CWS-boco begins in 1899 when Bernhard Burmeister founded a lingerie rental. It merged with Oszmer & Co in 1906 and was renamed boco. Since 1960 has boco workwear to the rental service. The company CWS started in Switzerland in 1954, named after the initials of its founder Conrad Wolfgang Schnyder. It specialized in washroom hygiene products from the start and expanded to Germany in 1958.

The Haniel Group took over CWS in 1981 and boco from Haymo Rethwisch in 1998 . Both brands have been combined under the umbrella brand HTS (Haniel Textile Service). CWS and boco have been operating together as CWS-boco since 2008.

In December 2016, Haniel and Rentokil Initial plc (RI) agreed on a joint venture that was implemented in June 2017 by selling the Initial activities to Haniel. Since April 2019, CWS-boco and Initial have been active under the name CWS. On July 31, 2019, Haniel acquired all minority shares in CWS held by Rentokil Initial plc.

The service offers from CWS-boco include the attachment of the dispenser, the collection of the towel rolls, mats or clothing from the customer, the washing of the textiles in resource-saving high-tech laundries as well as their inspection, repair, replacement and delivery. For care facilities, CWS-boco also takes care of the residents' clothes.

The company has made a public commitment to the greatest possible environmental protection : The vehicle fleet has been expanded to include natural gas vehicles and electric vehicles . The laundries use some of the waste water of the towel rolls for the pre-wash the mats. Heat exchangers save energy. Discarded dispensers are processed to raw material plastic granulate to approx. 90 percent and old cloth towel rolls serve as basic material for mops.

CWS-boco International is active in 16 countries in Europe and employs around 11,000 people worldwide . The company's headquarters are in Duisburg .

The CWS brand includes towel , soap and fragrance dispensers for public washrooms as well as dirt control mats for high-traffic areas in companies. Bed and table linen are also part of the portfolio .

The boco brand includes workwear for the catering & hotel industry , health & care, numerous craft sectors , aviation , facility management and industry . Special protective clothing and equipment for rescue services , fire brigade or chip production is also available.
