The Cabane du Trient (also Trienthütte ) is a hut of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC). It is the starting point for high-altitude tours in the Swiss part of the Mont Blanc massif . Experienced hikers can easily reach it via the La Breya mountain station , the Cabane d'Orny and the Glacier d'Orny . It is located on a rock above the Plateau du Trient (glacier plateau) at 3170 m above sea level. M. under the Pointe d'Orny . The hut has 130 beds and belongs to the SAC section Les Diablerets.
history
The Cabane du Trient replaced the Cabane Dupuis , which was built in 1906 with the bequest of Mr. Julius Dupius and enlarged in 1915. This old hut had 42 beds. The present hut was built in 1934 and expanded in 1975.
