Caigua is a town in the Tarija Department in the extreme south of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Caigua is the second largest town in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Villamontes in the province of Gran Chaco . The village is located at an altitude of 845 m at the eastern foot of the Voranden chain of the Serranía Aguaragüe , which runs here in a north-south direction and reaches an altitude of more than 1,400 m. A few kilometers further south, the Serranía Aguaragüe is broken through by the Río Pilcomayo near the city of Villamontes .

The annual average temperature of the region is around 25 ° C, the monthly values fluctuate between almost 20 ° C in June / July and 29 ° C in December / January. Transport network
Caigua is located 263 kilometers by road west of Tarija , the capital of the department.
To get from Tarija to Caigua, first follow the Ruta 1 trunk road , which leads from Tarija in a south-easterly direction. After eight kilometers, the Ruta 11 road branches off to the east, reaching the town of Villamontes after 243 kilometers via Junacas Sur , Entre Ríos and Palos Blancos . From here it's another twelve kilometers north on Ruta 9 to Caigua .
