Caio Lucas Fernandes , also just Caio (born April 19, 1994 in São Paulo ), is a Brazilian soccer player .

Career

Caio Lucas Fernandes learned to play football at the Brazilian club América FC (SP) and in the youth team at Chiba Kousai High School in Japan . He signed his first contract with the Kashima Antlers in 2014 . The club from Kashima , a city in the prefecture of Ibaraki , played in the highest Japanese league, the J. League Division 1 . In 2015 he won the J.League Cup with the Antlers . In the final they won 3-0 against Gamba Osaka . He left Japan in mid-2016 and went to the United Arab Emirates to the al Ain Club for a transfer fee of 3 million euros . The club from al-Ain played in the first division, the UAE Arabian Gulf League . In 2018 he celebrated the UAE championship with the club. In 2018 he took part in the FIFA Club World Cup with al Ain . Here they took second place. In the final they lost to Real Madrid 4-0. After 65 games and 24 goals, he moved to Europe in mid-2019 . Here he shot himself in Portugal to the first division club Benfica Lisbon . With the club from Lisbon he won the Supercup in August 2019 . The game against Sporting Lisbon was won 5-0. At the beginning of 2020 he went back to the United Arab Emirates on loan to Sharjah FC . The club from Sharjah plays in the first division, the UAE Arabian Gulf League.
