Caló des Moro ('small Moorish bay'), also Cala de Sa Comuna , is a bay in the southeast of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located on the coast of the municipality of Santanyí, southwest of the town of Cala Llombards in the direction of Cap de Ses Salines, the southern cape of Mallorca.

The Caló des Moro is located immediately east of the settlement of S'Almunia or S'Almonia , which is about 30 meters above the sea level of the bay. It is separated from the open sea by the es Castellet de Llevant peninsula in the south. The bay opens to the east. The main town of the municipality of Santanyí is 4.1 kilometers north of the Caló des Moro , the next larger town Es Llombards 3.6 kilometers northwest.
On the west side of the Caló des Moro there is a sandy beach about 30 meters long and 20 meters wide . It is framed by the steep coast and is interspersed with larger rocks. The size of the sand area varies and is flooded when the waves are strong. In some years it does not exist. Seagrass deposits can occur on the shore . Pine trees and shrubbery grow on the steep bank and behind the beach .
The Caló des Moro is part of a 40,000 m² private property, but is freely accessible. The planned construction of a hotel was prevented by the current owners. In 2009 a fire broke out on the property. The owners put up signs above the beach after new plantings, aimed at the careful use of nature. For their sustained protection they founded the Foundation Fundació Amics d'Es Caló des Moro - S'Almonia . From the Caló des Moro , a path leads southwest to Cala s'Almunia , which is built on with a few fishermen's houses and holiday homes.
Access
From the MA-6100 road between Santanyí and Es Llombards, follow the road towards Cala Llombards . Then from Camí de Cala Llombards turn right into Carrer de s'Almunia and follow the signs through the settlement. Above the Caló des Moro you can park freely in the settlement. In the summer season access is only possible with a shuttle bus . From Carrer des Caló des Moro , a flight of 120 steps leads southwest to Cala s'Almunia . From there a path leads northeast to the Caló des Moro .
