The Calenberger Kreditverein ( Calenberg-Göttingen-Grubenhagen-Hildesheim'scher Knighthood Loan Association ) is a public real estate credit institute based in Hanover .
history
It was founded in 1825 by “the knighthoods of the principalities of Calenberg , Grubenhagen and Hildesheim and the parts of the Kingdom of Hanover connected to these provinces ” through a statute approved by the king. In addition to the Stade Knighthood Credit Institute in Stade , the Calenberger Kreditverein is today the only bank supported by a knighthood .
The objective, which has always been pursued and is still stipulated in a statute, was to grant its members long-term loans on favorable terms. Refinancing is still carried out today by issuing Pfandbriefe, which are secured by mortgages and land charges.
In 2005, the existence of the Calenberger Kreditverein was threatened by the amendment of the Pfandbrief Act . Preservation could only be ensured by exempting the institute from the requirements of the minimum equity regulation of € 25 million.
organization structure
The carriers are the Calenberg-Göttingen-Grubenhagen knighthood and the Hildesheim knighthood.
Business direction and business success
In the agricultural sector, the bank grants long-term fixed-rate loans, promotional loans and harvest loans ( agricultural loans ). Housing loans are also offered and loans from the Reconstruction Loan Corporation are arranged. In the deposit business, savings bonds (“Calenberger Wertbrief”) are primarily issued.
Area of business
The statutory business area comprises the former Hanover administrative district , the southern part of the former Braunschweig administrative district including the Peine and Gifhorn districts, and the southern part of the former Lüneburg administrative district . In addition, statutory loans outside the business area are also permissible, provided they are economically related to those within the business area.
