Calvin Goldspink (born January 24, 1989 in Great Yarmouth ) is a British actor and singer. He became known as a member of the English pop band S Club 8 , the successor to S Club 7 .

Life

Goldspink was born in Great Yarmouth, East England, in 1989. He later moved with his family to Aberdeen , Scotland , where he attended Cults Academy.

At the age of 12, Calvin took part in a casting on the English television channel BBC . At this casting, a support act for the new tour of S Club 7 was sought. Around 12,000 children and young people took part in this casting. Calvin made it to the finals and became a member of the eight-piece band S Club Juniors .

2001-2005

After the Carnival Tour of S Club 7, S Club Juniors released their first single, One Step Closer . This placed at number 2 in the English single charts. In late 2002, the first studio album, Together , was released. Together reached number 5 on the UK album charts and went platinum. There are four top 10 singles from this album. In 2003 they went on tour with the S Clubs again, the S Club United Tour . At the end of the year, the Juniors won the title of Best Newcomer at the Disney Channel Kids Awards.

After the dissolution of S Club, the S Club Juniors were renamed S Club 8 . A second album, Sundown , and three other top 20 singles were then released.

In 2004 the band spent three months in Barcelona filming the BBC series I Dream . The series became a great success in England, but also in some other countries in Europe and Australia. To promote the series, a new album, Welcome to Avalon Heights , has been released. The first single from this album was a duet between Frankie and Calvin entitled Dreaming . This was their last single before the group split in spring 2005.

2007

In January 2007, Calvin moved to Los Angeles after being discovered at Seth Riggs Singing's camp in the summer of 2006. He went to a casting and won the role of Oliver Bans in the US series Life is Wild . In late February 2007 he recorded the 45-minute pilot episode in South Africa. A short time later, the entire 13-part series was filmed in South Africa.

In Germany, Life is wild was broadcast on Sixx . The periods were May to August 2010 and August to the end of October 2010. In the German version, his role is called Colin Banks. His German voice is spoken by David Turba .

2009–2012

In early 2009, Calvin released his first solo songs on his official MySpace page. Within 14 days, his MySpace page had been visited more than 100,000 times and after a year it had more than 650,000 hits. The first songs on his MySpace page were Don't Fail Me, Dance in the rain, Lonely, Bright Lights, Take my hand and Never not beautiful . The US singer and actress Jessica Simpson wrote the song Never not beautiful for Calvin. Joe Simpson , the father of Ashlee and Jessica , became the manager of his music career .

Calvin announced on Twitter in mid-August 2010 that he had been in New York for a week and recorded new songs. There he worked with hit maker Claude Kelly. This is behind the success of the songs Circus by Britney Spears and My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson . He recorded other songs in London with various producers. Calvin announced on his official Twitter page that his album would be released in 2012.

In 2011, Goldspink played James Middleton, the younger brother of Kate Middleton , in the film William and Kate . The film is about the love story between Prince William and Kate Middleton. Filming began on February 24, 2011.
