biography

Alfieri won the Whistler Cup Super G in 2000 . She contested her first FIS races in November 2000. The following year she was Italian junior champion in downhill , super-G and combined , and again in super-G in 2002. The first appearances in the European Cup followed in December 2002 . At the 2004 Junior World Championships in Maribor , she was sixth in the giant slalom.

In the 2005/06 season of the European Cup , Alfieri achieved fifth place in the giant slalom ranking with two second places. Although she could not win again in the 2006/07 European Cup season , she was the winner of the giant slalom classification with a second and four third places and ranked third in the overall standings. At the Universiade 2007 , Alfieri won the giant slalom gold medal and was fourth in the Super-G.

Alfieri completed her first World Cup race on January 5, 2004 at the slalom in Megève and won her first World Cup points on December 21, 2005 as the 29th of the giant slalom in Špindlerův Mlýn . After numerous non-qualifications for the second run or failures, Alfieri achieved by far her best World Cup result to date with tenth place in the giant slalom in Lienz . From then on she was able to score more points in the World Cup and achieve several top 20 placings until she again achieved tenth place on October 24, 2009 in the giant slalom in Sölden . From 2010 onwards, Alfieri was rarely found in the World Cup points, after which she was used more often in the European Cup. In September 2012, she announced her retirement from ski racing.
