Cape Agulhas is a municipality in the Overberg District , Western Cape Province in South Africa . It is the southernmost community on the African mainland. In 2011 the population was 33,038 on a total area of ​​2,841 km². The seat of the municipal administration is Bredasdorp .

The southernmost point of the municipality is Cape Agulhas , which is also the southernmost point of Africa.
