Caroline "Cara" Seymour (* 1964 in Essex , England ) is a British actress .

Life

Seymour began studying at the University of Cambridge . There she founded the theater group Trouble & Strife ( Cockney -Slang for wife ) with six college friends , with whom she performed for the next seven years in Great Britain and the United States. In 1995 she starred in the plays Ecstasy and Goose Pimples, directed by Mike Leigh .

Seymour had her first film appearance in 1997 as a junkie in Stephen Rea's The Last Assassination , followed by a small role in the romantic comedy em @ il for you .

Seymour had her breakthrough in 2000 with small but important supporting roles in Mary Harron's literary adaptation American Psycho and Lars von Trier's independent film Dancer in the Dark .

In 2009, Seymour appeared on the side of Carey Mulligan , Olivia Williams and Alfred Molina in the coming-of-age drama An Education .
