Carina Lilge-Leutner (born June 10, 1960 as Carina Leutner ; † August 21, 2017 in Vienna ) was an Austrian long-distance runner and four-time national marathon champion (1987, 1990, 1991, 1993).
Career
Marathon since 1985
She started running in the fall of 1984 at the age of 24 and registered for her first marathon in Graz in October 1985.
In 1986 she set a national record in eighth place in the Chicago Marathon with 2:37:09 h. The following year, in 1987, she became the overall winner of the Vienna Spring Marathon, the Austrian marathon champion . Until 1992 she started as Carina Weber-Leutner. She won other national titles over this distance in 1990, 1991 (third in the Vienna Spring Marathon) and 1993 (as the overall winner of the Danube Marathon ).
She was national champion in the 10,000 m three times (1986, 1992, 1994) and twice each in the 15 km road run (1986, 1991), in the half marathon (1992, 1995) and in the mountain run (1991, 2008).
Triathlon since 1999
At the end of the 90s she switched to triathlon and in 1999 she took fifth place at the state championships over the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) and was this year with her performance at the "TriMania “In Carinthia (= previous event of Ironman Austria : 3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) fastest Austrian over the long distance
In 2005, 2007 and 2011 she won the Schneeberglauf .
Carina Lilge-Leutner started for team2012.at, which is run by her former husband Wilhelm Lilge.
She died on August 21, 2017 at the age of 57 after suffering from cancer and leaves behind a daughter.
