Carl Adolf Gerhard von Zezschwitz (* July 2, 1825 in Budissin (today Bautzen ), † July 20, 1886 in Erlangen ) was a Lutheran theologian from Saxony. In 1848 he was a co-founder of the Evangelical Lutheran Student Association Philadelphia-Leipzig, which belongs to the Leuchtenburg Association founded in 1909.

Zezschwitz came from a Saxon noble family, which had mainly produced high military personnel, and studied theology at the University of Leipzig . In 1852 he was first pastor in Großzschocher near Leipzig, but turned to further studies at the university , where he became the second university preacher in 1856, where he completed his habilitation there in 1857 and then became an associate professor. In 1861 he left Leipzig, lived temporarily in Neuendettelsau and gave apologetic lectures on behalf of the Committee for Inner Mission in Frankfurt, Darmstadt and Basel.

In 1865 Zezschwitz became a full professor at the University of Gießen , and in 1866 in Erlangen , where from 1867 he was also a university preacher and headed a theological college he founded.
