Zezschwitz is the name of a Meissnian nobility family with the parent company Zeschwitz near Leisnig .
history
The family first appeared in a document in 1228 with Otto de Zeczewiz . The family line begins in 1286 with Siegmund von Zezschwitz .
The family owned the Thräna , Saritsch , Lubachau , Deutschbaselitz (Oberlausitz) and Piskowitz estates from 1695, after they were acquired by the von Luttitz family for 38,000 thalers . In 1730 Hans Heinrich von Zezschwitz acquired the manors Ober- and Niedertaubenheim and in 1751 Spreewiese Castle (formerly Groß-Leichnamb).
Around 1800 Karl Heinrich and Friedrich Christlieb von Zezschwitz are mentioned, who had the large Deutschbaselitzer pond converted into its present form and who operated pond management until at least 1867 . In 1945 the family's property was expropriated.
A family association has existed since January 2, 1861.
