Carl Anton contradicting (born March 3, 1753 in Rödelheim , † September 23, 1795 in Oldenburg ) was a German administrative lawyer and Oldenburg chancellery.

Life

After the untimely death of his parents, Carl Anton befitted grew up with relatives in Rödelheim and was supposed to be a businessman . He was first educated by private tutors and from 1770 attended high school in Idstein . From 1772 to 1774 he studied law at the University of Tübingen . He then found his first job as a private secretary in Frankfurt am Main .

In 1775 he became secretary of Prince Peter Friedrich Ludwig from the House of Holstein-Gottorp (1755-1829), who had just been elected coadjutor of the Lübeck bishopric , who in turn was designated as sovereign of the Duchy of Oldenburg under the Treaty of Tsarskoe Selo .

Until 1779, adversary accompanied Peter Friedrich Ludwig on his travels to Russia, England and Denmark and moved with him to Rastede in 1779 . On his recommendation, opponent was accepted into the Oldenburg state service in September 1781 and employed as an assessor in the government chancellery of the duchy. In July 1793 he was promoted to the chancellery.

In Oldenburg, opponent joined the circle around Gerhard Anton von Halem and was one of the first members of the literary society of the royal seat . He was also an employee of Halem and Gerhard Anton Hermann Gramberg 's magazine Blätter mixed content .

family

Opponent married Anna Catharina Knodt (1764–1827) in 1782, the daughter of Count Bentinck's Chamber Councilor Adam Levin Knodt (1726–1787). Their son Anton Gottlieb Georg (1787–1842) later entered the Oldenburg service himself, became a privy councilor and member of the consistory and the general directorate for the poor.
