Blohm is known for his march pictures with motifs of the Elbmarsch and the Elbe. He translated his impressions gained in southern regions into numerous travel pictures. In addition to the landscapes that were depicted without people, he also devoted himself to portrait painting . Blohm began to work as a sculptor in the 30s (e.g. "Selbst" and "Maria Wimmer"). His sculptures are on an equal footing with his painterly work.
