Carl Fleischmann (painter)
Carl Fleischmann , also Karl Fleischmann (born December 11, 1853 in Floß (Upper Palatinate) , † January 17, 1935 in Nuremberg ), was a German painter and since 1873 teacher at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts .
Life
Fleischmann, son of the lithographer Johann Georg Fleischmann, attended the Royal School of Applied Arts in Nuremberg from 1869 to 1873 under August von Kreling , Karl Jäger , Friedrich Wanderer and Karl Raupp after his first lessons with his father . From 1873 he was himself a teacher of drawing according to antiquity, and from 1890 to 1920 he was professor of figure drawing. In addition to landscapes, he created portraits, interiors and still lifes. Fleischmann was a member of the Association of Franconian Artists and the Nuremberg Art Cooperative as well as an honorary member of the Nuremberg Art Association .
