Carl Friedel (baptized name: Carl Paul Gotthard Eduard Johannes) (born October 13, 1862 Dahrau manor near Wohlau / Silesia ; † October 26, 1931 in Hamm ) was the police director in Hamm.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1884, Carl Friedel studied at the Technical University of Charlottenburg in Lissa and law at the University of Breslau . He did his military service as a one-year volunteer in the Grenadier Regiment "King Frederick III." . In 1893 Friedel was a trainee lawyer at the Wroclaw Higher Regional Court and in 1895 moved to the Wroclaw Police Administration. Appointed Police Assessor on July 14, 1900, the following month he was transferred to Cologne Police Headquarters . After his transfer to the Charlottenburg Police Headquarters at the beginning of 1903, he received his certificate of appointment to the Police Council in April 1906. He did military service since the beginning of the First World War and was deployed both at the front and with civil authorities in the occupied territories. From the beginning of 1918 to February 1919 he worked in the war usury office, returned to the Berlin Police Headquarters and in March 1923 received a delegation order from the Police President Recklinghausen. Arrested by the occupation authorities on May 2, 1923 , the court martial in Stade sentenced him on May 25, 1923 to one year in prison. The reason for this was the fact that Friedel had not submitted a list of police officers. He was released early and ordered back to the Berlin Police Headquarters in January 1924. In April 1927, he was appointed government councilor to head the state police administration in Hamm. On October 1, 1927, he received the certificate of appointment as police director and remained in this position until his retirement on April 1, 1928.
