Carl Friedrich Petzold

Carl Friedrich Petzold (born May 27, 1675 in Ottendorf near Pirna ; † May 30, 1731 in Leipzig ) was a German writer and educator .

Life

Pezold was born near Pirna in 1675 as the son of the Archdeacon of Torgau Georg Friedrich Petzold. In 1695 he studied theology and philosophy at the University of Leipzig . He received his Baccalaureus in philosophy in 1696 and his master's degree in 1698 . He became Tertius of the Nikolaischule in 1703 and the Thomas School in Leipzig in 1704 . He later became its vice-principal . In 1710 he became an assessor at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Leipzig. He became famous for his writing and editing.
