Carl Georg Lickl

Carl Georg Lickl (born October 28, 1801 in Vienna ; † August 3, 1877 there ; also Georg Lickl or Lickl György ) was an Austrian musician , pianist , composer , flautist and also worked as an Imperial and Royal clerk in court accounting.

Life

His father Johann Georg Lickl (1769–1843) promoted the musical disposition of Carl Georg Lickl by enabling him to learn to play the pianoforte and violin as well as to be taught composition and figured bass . For the pianoforte and the physharmonica he wrote compositions such as rondos and sonatas as well as variations with and without accompaniment. In connection with his mention in the Oesterreichische National-Encyklopädie , Jacob Deutschmann is mentioned in passing as a decisive further developer of the Physharmonika, and on which his work Phys-Harmonica by CG Lickl is based. Theoretical-practical guidance for the knowledge and treatment of the Phys-Harmonica ... calls. Another source gives him together with Gustav Freiherr von Prandau (1807-1885) as those who contributed to the improvement of the Physharmonika.

His younger brother was the later musician Aegidius Carl Lickl (1803–1864).
