Carl Gollmick

Carl Gollmick (born March 19, 1796 in Dessau , † October 3, 1866 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German music critic and composer . He was friends with Albert Lortzing .

Life

Gollmick is the son of the singer Friedrich Karl Gollmick , who was temporarily engaged in Dessau at the time. His parents' wandering made a thorough education difficult. From 1815 studied Gollmick at the University of Strasbourg theology , but was soon forced to leave the University, after which he went to Frankfurt and issued as a private teacher of music and language lessons. In 1818 he was employed by Louis Spohr as a drum beater at the city ​​theater . In 1855 he retired.
