Carl Gotthelf Glaeser the Younger
Carl Gotthelf Glaeser (the younger) (born May 4, 1784 in Weißenfels , † August 16, 1829 in Barmen ) was a German composer and music director in Barmen.

Glaeser is the son of the Weißenfels composer and cantor at the city church Carl Ludwig Traugott Glaeser (1747–1797) and Amalie Marie Ziesche (1756–1832). His grandfather was the rector and cantor in Ehrenfriedersdorf Carl Gotthelf Glaeser the Elder (1715–1792).
Career
Glaeser received his first lessons from his father, attended the St. Thomas School in Leipzig , was a volunteer in the Wars of Liberation in 1813/1814 and became music director in Barmen in 1815 . He founded a music shop and rental company. He created numerous song books and musical-theoretical works, composed church chants, motets and chorales.
