Carl Gotthelf Lehmann
Carl Gotthelf Lehmann (born March 7, 1812 in Leipzig , † January 6, 1863 in Jena ) was a German chemist and physiologist .
Life
Lehmann studied from 1830 at the University of Leipzig medicine and in 1835 with the work "De urina diabetic" doctorate . After his habilitation in 1837, he was appointed extraordinary professor of medicine in 1842. From 1847 he held a professorship for physiological chemistry in Leipzig, from 1854 as a professor. In 1856 Lehmann was offered the chair for general chemistry at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . After his death in 1863, Anton Geuther followed him as a professor.
Carl Gotthelf Lehmann was the author of several textbooks.
Honors
He was elected a member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences in 1846 and a member of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina in 1858 .
