Carl Heinrich Boerner
Carl Heinrich Boerner (born June 20, 1844 in Wilsdruff ; † November 6, 1921 in Dresden ) was a German lawyer and president of the Dresden Higher Regional Court . As a member of the Commission on the drafting of the Civil Code , he was from 1874 to the creation of the BGB involved.
Life
After attending the Meißen Fürstenschule Sankt Afra , Boerner devoted himself to studying law at the University of Leipzig . During his studies he became a member of the Afrania country team . After he passed the assessor exam in 1972 with “excellent good” , he worked first at the Dresden court office, then from 1873 on as an assistant worker at the Leipzig Appeals Court and later at the Dresden Regional Court . In July 1880 he was appointed district court director. From 1874 to 1889 he supported the editor of the general part of the civil code as a laborer for the first commission . Boerner wrote the motifs of the general part and the introductory law . On April 1, 1889, he was appointed lecturer in the Saxon Ministry of Justice . From 1890 to 1896 he was commissioner of the Reich Chancellor in the second commission, in the judicial committee of the Federal Council and in the Reichstag . After the deliberations of the second commission had been completed, he returned to the Saxon Ministry of Justice and was subsequently involved in a leading role in adapting Saxon legislation to the BGB. From 1901 Boerner was a secret councilor with the rank of ministerial director . At the same time, he was appointed deputy representative to the Federal Council. And finally, from January 1908 to September 1913, he was President of the Dresden Higher Regional Court . There he chaired the 6th Senate (land register and guardianship matters, injunctions).

1897: Honorary doctorate from the law faculty of the University of Leipzig .
