Carl Hofer (film producer)

Carl Hofer (born January 16, 1894 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † December 1, 1954 in Vienna) was an Austrian film production manager , producer and line producer.

Life

Hofer had studied law before joining film shortly after the end of the First World War. In Germany, together with his colleague Ottmar Ostermayr , he founded the joint production company Lucy Doraine -Film in the mid-1920s .

In the early years of sound film, Carl Hofer had to be content with all sorts of little technical production details. For example, in 1939 he was production assistant for the film “ Angelika ” and in 1942/43 he was the second production manager for “ Saison in Salzburg ”. During the Second World War, the Viennese worked as a production manager for various companies, including Aco-Film and Deka-Film . After 1945 he worked for Cziffra-Film , based in his hometown of Vienna . With the typical Hans Moser fabric Hallo Dienstmann , he achieved his greatest public and box office success in 1951.
