Johan Carl Kempe (born December 8, 1884 in Stockholm , † July 8, 1967 ) was a Swedish tennis player and entrepreneur.
Life
Johan Carl Kempe came from a Swedish entrepreneurial family. After studying at Uppsala University , he started working for Mo och Domsjö AB in the paper industry in 1906 , which was headed by his father Frans . In 1917 he took over the management of the company, which is now called Holmen AB after a merger of several companies and a change of name .
Kempe also took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm and played in all of the competitions held in the hall. In the individual competition he was defeated in the second round to the French André Gobert . In mixed doubles, he and Margareta Cederschiöld lost the game for the bronze medal against Gunnar Setterwall and Sigrid Fick . In the men's doubles he achieved his only medal success; with Setterwall he only lost in the final against the French André Gobert and Maurice Germot .
