Carl Zapletal (also: Karl Zapletal ; born July 26, 1876 in Schönberg in Moravia ; † June 19, 1941 in Vienna ) was an Austrian photographer .

life and work

From 1906 at the latest, Carl Zapletal ran a studio in Vienna, the Studio Moderne Fotografie at Josefstädter Strasse 73. He specialized in sports and industrial photography and took numerous snapshots of children. In 1911, the press photographer also took early aerial photographs and "probably as the first Austrian professional photographer to take photos from an airplane ."
