Franz Wilschke was an Austrian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 1914 Franz Wilschke became a member of the Viennese cycling club Aar . In the same year he contested his first race. During the First World War he was drafted as a soldier and, as a member of the kuk Landsturm Cyclist Battalion, drove military races on the streets. At the war championship over 100 kilometers, he finished tenth. From 1919 Wilschke, who was still considered a "junior" at the time, drove as an amateur for the RC Wiedner Radler 1897 club ; in later years (apparently after his re- amateurization ) he returned to the Aar cycling club. Presumably in 1921 or 1922 he turned professional . He regularly competed in races on the Hernalser Radrennbahn in Vienna .

Wilschke won the title of Austrian professional pilot in 1923 and 1924 as well as for the third time on August 9, 1925 on the bicycle race track in Hernals. There he won with six points from Hans Kaletta, Franz Kaletta and Hermann Kaletta (also Kaleta ). Wilschke was active as a cyclist until at least 1934, but also worked as a functionary. He contested one of his last races as the “old master” in October 1934 on the stadium cycle track in Vienna.
