Julian Rechberger (born February 17, 1995 in Judenburg ) is a former Austrian cyclist and triathlete .

Career

Julian Rechberger was active as a triathlete until 2012 and started in the Junior European Cup before he shifted his athletic focus to track cycling .

He referred to the multiple British Olympic champion Chris Hoy as his great role model and was trained by his father.

On May 18, 2013, Julian Rechberger set a new national junior record over 200 meters as well as two other records with 11.067 seconds in the Vienna Ferry-Dusika-Hallenstadion during the Austrian championships in track cycling .

In 2013 Rechberger became Austrian junior champion in the sprint , and in the 1000 meter time trial he finished third. The following year he won the elite sprint title. He then ended his cycling career.
