Daniel Baldauf (born October 8, 1986 in Graz ) is an Austrian track cyclist specializing in sprint disciplines.

At the end of 2008, Baldauf started for the Austrian national team at the International Grand Prix Vienna , drove into the finals in the Keirin and became the best Austrian. In 2009 he was Vice State Champion and then sent to the European Championships in Belgium. There he took twelfth place. In March 2010, together with Lukas Gelosky and Clemens Selzer , he set a new Austrian record in the team sprint at the Grand Prix of Poland .

In the following summer, Baldauf drove successfully at international sprinter meetings , especially in the Czech Republic, and again made it to the finals in Brno. He and the Austrian international sprint team were looked after and trained by Czech ex-European champion Pavel Buráň . In September 2010 he was again double vice state champion and again undercut the Austrian record that he had held himself, which, however, was subsequently revoked because of a subsequent positive doping result .

In October 2010 Daniel Baldauf was nominated for the Austrian national team for the European Championships in Poland , which were part of the Olympic qualification, in the sprint, team sprint and keirin disciplines, despite a torn muscle fiber . The results obtained were also retrospectively canceled due to the positive doping result.

After that, it was announced that Baldauf in September 2010 positive for testosterone - prohormones was tested. He told the media that he had been confirmed that his samples had exceeded the limit values slightly, which he attributed to a contaminated dietary supplement . The National Anti-Doping Agency issued a two-year ban against Baldauf (September 21, 2010 - September 21, 2012). Due to the doping case Baldauf, his club Styrian Sprint Cycling Union was forced to cease operations.

After his two-year ban, Baldauf became Austrian sprint champion in May 2013.
