Carl v. Arnim

Carl Friedrich Heinrich von Arnim (born June 11, 1831 on Gut Wolkow, Regenwalde district , Pomerania; † November 22, 1905 in Berlin ) was a German administrative lawyer in Prussia.

Life

Carl Friedrich Heinrich von Arnim came from the Wolckow family of the von Arnim family . His parents were Carl Friedrich Heinrich Christoph von Arnim (* September 17, 1791; † June 20, 1874) and his wife Laura Auguste Henriette von Wedel (* February 15, 1803; † April 22, 1875).

He studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität . On November 16, 1851 he was accepted into the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn . On August 9, 1852, he was honorably released from the association and transferred to the Friedrichs University in Halle . In 1853 he became a member, later an honorary member, of the Corps Neoborussia Halle . On April 21, 1854, he became an auscultator at the Halle Regional Court and was awarded Dr. iur. PhD . He then worked at the courts in Stargard in Pomerania and Stettin, where he passed the exams as a government auscultator. In 1859 he became a government assessor in Stralsund . From 1859 he was bailiff of the Gifhorn office , from 1867/68 at the same time as district chief of the Gifhorn control group and from 1873 district chief in Celle . At the beginning of 1879 he became police president of Magdeburg and at the same time district administrator of the city district. From 1888 to 1899 he was President of the Government of the administrative district of Stralsund . He retired in 1899 and settled in Berlin. He was a legal knight of the Order of St. John.

He found his final resting place after being reburied in the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf .

He married Anna Regina von Bilow on August 26, 1859 in Stralsund (* December 7, 1838 in Grischow , Grimmen district ; † January 4, 1917 in Liebstadt (East Prussia) ). The couple had several children:

  • Anna (* July 9, 1862) ⚭ 1884 Kurt von Kunheim (* October 23, 1849), Rittmeister a. D.
  • Oskar (born March 4, 1864), captain, Knight of Honor of the Order of St. John
