C. Doberman

C. Doberman (actually Carla-Ingrid Hahn ; born February 9, 1928 in Cologne ; † June 2, 2008 in Karlsruhe ) was a German writer of travel literature, novels and specialist books.

Life

Through her language studies ( English at the University of London , French at the Paris Sorbonne ) from 1952 to 1955, she had excellent language skills and was a reviewer of English and French literature for a. a. the [evangelical] digest .

Carla-Ingrid Hahn was an enthusiastic sailor. At the age of 10 she already sailed on the Abeking & Rasmussen yacht of her uncle Helmut "HuHu" Henz.

Carla-Ingrid Hahn worked as a secretary and foreign language correspondent for the North Sails sailmaker in Garatshausen , Starnberger See . During this time she began to collect material for the "Dictionary of Water Sports ".

Carla-Ingrid Hahn was also an enthusiastic sailor on her son's sailing yacht, the 37ft Colin-Archer Ketch “Skua”, which also served as a floating study at her berth in Stavoren , IJsselmeer . Together with her son and daughter-in-law, she sailed the IJsselmeer, the Waddenzee and the southern North Sea .

Before her death on June 2, 2008, Carla-Ingrid Hahn was working on a travelogue with a historical overview of England , Scotland , the Orkneys and the Hebrides . A travel book about Russia ( Saint Petersburg ) and Ukraine ( Kiev ) remains unpublished.
