Carlo DeRosa (* 27. October 1970 ) is an American jazz - bassist , bandleader and composer , the Jack DeJohnette certified "great ensemble playing and thoughtful solos."

Live and act

DeRosa comes from New Paltz (New York) and came to New York City in 1993 and has since worked with musicians such as Ray Barretto , Ravi Coltrane , William Cepeda , Bruce Barth , Ed Thigpen , Nick Brignola , Mickey Roker , Steve Turre , Miguel Zenón , Hilton Ruiz , Ralph Alessi and Jason Moran ; he also worked on recordings a. a. by Amir ElSaffar ( Two Rivers ; Pi Recordings 2007, and Inana 2011), Rudresh Mahanthappa ( Kinsmen 2008) with. In the 2000s he worked with his band Cross Fade , which includes Mark Shim (saxophone), Justin Brown (drums) and pianist Vijay Iyer . In 2011 he released the album Brain Dance on Cuneiform .
