Carlo Pellegrini (painter, 1866)

Carlo Pellegrini (born October 25, 1866 in Albese ; † September 5, 1937 there ) was an Italian painter , draftsman and illustrator who worked largely in Switzerland.

Life

Carlo Pellegrini completed an art degree at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and was made an honorary member in 1897 on the occasion of his participation in the third Biennale di Brera because of his painting Livigno . In 1900 he came to Switzerland (Geneva, Adelboden).

Pellegrini traveled all over Europe. At the invitation of Baron Coubertin , he designed a motif on the subject of "Winter Sports" for the Concours of the 1912 Summer Olympics , for which he received the gold medal. His solo exhibitions and participations in group exhibitions are numerous. He took u. a. participated in the Brera Biennials and in exhibitions in Dresden , Rome and Turin .

Pellegrini has designed numerous postcards and posters on the subjects of sports and winter landscapes. He also left landscapes , especially Engadine winter landscapes, as well as portraits . He mainly worked with oil and tempera . His paintings Al ponte inverso in Valganna , Gli sciatori , Ruscello di montagna and Livigno are particularly well known .
