SE the Venerable Bailli Fra ' Carlo d'Ippolito di Sant'Ippolito (born May 3, 1933 in Naples , Italy ) is Profess -Honor and Devotion Grand Cross -Bailli and was from 2011 to 2014 the Grand Commander of the Order of Malta , one of the four High offices of the order.

Life

d'Ippolito joined the family's farm after completing his training. He also served on several supervisory boards. He was a member of the Eurochambres in Brussels.

Religious life

Carlo d'Ippolito di Sant'Ippolito entered the Order of Malta in 1997 and made perpetual vows in 2005. He became a professed knight and monk in the sense of canon law.

d'Ippolito was Deputy Councilor of the Order's Chamber of Accounts from 2004 to 2006 and a member of the Sovereign Council from 2006 to 2011 , to which he was re-elected in 2009. In addition, from 2009 to 2011 he was Council President of the Order in Italy for Pilgrimages and Council Member of the Committee for the International Lourdes Pilgrimage.

d'Ippolito was elected Grand Commander of the Order of Malta on 6 December 2011 by the Sovereign Council for the period until the next General Chapter . He succeeds Fra ' Gherardo Hercolani Fava Simonetti , Grand Commander from February 2009 to December 2011, who gave up the post for health reasons.
