Carlo of Naples and Sicily, Duke of Calabria , full name Carlo Tito Francesco Giuseppe di Borbone (born January 4, 1775 in Naples , † December 17, 1778 there ) was a prince of the Bourbon family , born Duke of Calabria and Crown Prince both Sicilies .

biography

Carlo was born the son of Ferdinand I (Sicily) of Bourbon and his wife Maria Karolina of Austria . Through his mother he was a grandson of the Empress Maria Theresa of Austria and through his father, son of the Spanish King Charles III. (Spain) , after which it was named, heir to the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. After the birth of two daughters, a prince was wanted. It was only through his birth that his mother was able to get a place in the state. The Crown Prince died unexpectedly three weeks before his fourth birthday. He was buried in the church of Santa Chiara in Naples.
