Carmen Witte

Carmen Witte - married Carmen Witte Ehrismann - (born October 29, 1961 ) is a Swiss table tennis player . She took part in the world championship in 1983.

Career

Witte is left-handed. She always played for the TTC Uster club , whose women's team was trained by her father Reinhard Witte. At the beginning of the 1980s she was one of the leading young people in Switzerland. She won the doubles with Beatrice Witte and the mixed with Kobi at the U18 youth championships in 1979 . In the U21 age group, she won three times in a row from 1980 to 1982 in doubles with her twin sister Beatrice and in 1980 (with R.Keller), 1981 (with R.Keller) and 1982 (with Kobi) in mixed. In total she won 22 titles in the youth SM (singles, doubles, mixed) team for TTC Uster and Elite in (singles, doubles, mixed) categories.

In the adult singles she reached the final once, but she did not win the title. In 1982, 1983, 1986, 1987 and 1988 she won doubles with Beatrice Witte, in mixed she won gold in 1979 with R.Keller and 1983 with Thierry Miller .

Nominated for the world championships from 1983 . Since the Swiss table tennis athletes have not yet been among the best in the world, they did not come close to medal ranks either. She played in the Swiss national team for a total of 9 years.

After a break of several years for private reasons, Witte began playing table tennis again in 2005. With the women's team of the TTC Uster club, she rose as a player and supervisor from the lowest division to the women's national league A.

Private

Carmen Witte Ehrismann's twin sister Beatrice Schempp-Witte was also a national player. She is married, lives in Winterthur and has a daughter named Nurit Ehrismann , who also plays table tennis at the TTC Uster. First, she and her sister did a commercial apprenticeship at a bank. Then both completed a kindergarten teacher training course and later graduated as speech therapists. Today they work as speech therapists, albeit at different schools. In the early 1980s she lived in Laughton (England) for a few months to improve her English language skills. Later she lived temporarily in Bangkok, Thailand.
