Carole Jane Pachl

Carole Jane Pachl (born December 23, 1938 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Canadian figure skater who started in a single run .

Pachl is the daughter of a once in Czechoslovakia and Germany known stage and film actress and a wealthy Czechoslovak chocolate manufacturer . Her father was taken to a concentration camp by the National Socialists and expropriated by the Communists after the war . The family then went to Montreal .

At the age of eight, Pachl started figure skating in earnest; before that, she had mainly been interested in ballet . Her mother took her to England to train with Arnold Gerschwiler . Later Pachl also trained under Gustave Lussi in Lake Placid and Otto Gold in Ottawa .

1955 to 1957 Pachl was Canadian champion . In 1954 she had her debut at the world championships , which she finished eighth. In 1955 she was sixth and at her last World Cup in 1957 , she finished fourth. Pachl represented Canada at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , where he finished sixth.
