Caroline Hungerländer

Caroline Hungerländer (born April 6, 1988 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Since November 2017 she has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

Life

education and profession

Caroline Hungerländer attended the Bundesgymnasium and Wirtschaftskundliche Realgymnasium Amerlingstraße in Vienna- Mariahilf , where she graduated in 2006 . She then studied German and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Vienna , graduating in 2013 with a master's degree with a thesis on the subject of flag words in the Austrian government declarations of the Second Republic . In 2008/2009 she graduated from the Dr. Karl Kummer Institute , which she also headed from 2013. From 2008 she was also the district manager of the ÖVP Vienna-Wieden . In 2013/2014 she completed the diploma course at the Diplomatic Academy and subsequently internships abroad in Washington, Brussels and Paris.

From 2009 she was the deputy of the federal youth chairman of the Austrian youth trade union (ÖGJ) and from 2011 to 2015 the federal youth chairwoman of the Christian union group (FCG). From 2009 to 2012 she acted as district chairwoman of the Young People's Party (JVP) in Vienna-Wieden, since 2013 she has been the federal deputy chairwoman of the FCG and a co-opted member of the federal board of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (ÖGB).

On November 20, 2017, during the 20th electoral term , she was sworn in as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and municipal council , where she is a member of the municipal council committee for European and international affairs as well as the committee for the environment and Wiener Stadtwerke. She succeeded Gudrun Kugler , who moved to the National Council . In the state and municipal council elections in Vienna 2020 , she is running as the top constituency candidate for the 22nd district of Donaustadt .
