Caroline du Bled & Scorbut (2013)

Caroline du Bled & Scorbüt is a German-French chanson trio. The group's performances mix musical and theatrical elements: the artists describe their style as a chanson performance. The group is based in Berlin .

occupation

The arrangement consists of vocals, guitar and drums . The group's singer is the Arte presenter Caroline du Bled . The guitar is played by the musician, theater director and playwright Heiko Michels . Percussion on various percussion instruments comes from the Brazilian Gilson Cardoso.

style

The musicians interpret French and German chansons from the 1920s to 1970s. Your focus is on the theatrical features.
The program consists of pieces by Jacques Brel , Bertolt Brecht , Edith Piaf , Zarah Leander , Serge Gainsbourg and Hans Albers . A stylistic device is playing with catchy tunes . In doing so, the recognition effect is undermined by the audience, but in contrast to this, an expressive over-identification is also used.

history

The beginnings of the group go back to 2005, when the trio performed in Berlin and Paris pubs. With a program “Re-Chercher Jacques Brel” designed as a combination of reading and concert, they also appeared in small theaters and literature houses in 2007. In 2008 the CD "Toutes Directiones" was released with a record release party in Ballhaus Ost in Berlin. This was followed by appearances in the Prater of the Berliner Volksbühne , at the Avignon Theater Festival , in the Hans-Otto-Theater Potsdam or in the French Embassy in Berlin. From 2012 the group performed at various festivals, in theaters and on concert stages across Germany. In spring 2014, a live CD will be released in cooperation with Deutschlandradio Kultur . In 2016 scorbüt celebrates its premiere with a program of Rio Reiser adaptations "Ceci n`est pas l`EUROPE. Caroline du Bled & scorbüt make Rio Reiser" in the Volksbühne Berlin .
