Carroll Thomas Dozier

Carroll Thomas Dozier (born August 18, 1911 in Richmond , Virginia , USA ; † December 7, 1985 ) was Bishop of Memphis .

Life

Carroll Thomas Dozier received on 19 March 1937, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 12, 1970, Pope Paul VI appointed him . first bishop of the newly established diocese of Memphis. The Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy , John Joseph Cardinal Wright , donated him episcopal ordination on January 6, 1971 ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Delegate to the United States, Archbishop Luigi Raimondi , and the Archbishop of Louisville , Thomas Joseph McDonough .

On July 27, 1982, Carroll Thomas Dozier resigned as Bishop of Memphis.
