Casey Hankinson (born May 8, 1976 in Edina , Minnesota ) is a former American ice hockey player , who was active during his active career for the Chicago Blackhawks and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the National Hockey League .
Career
Casey Hankinson began his active career in high school with the Edina Hornets , for whom he was active from 1992 to 1994. He then went to the University of Minnesota and played ice hockey in the team of the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association for the next four years . During this time he was selected in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft in the eighth round at a total of 201st position by the Chicago Blackhawks . In the 1998/99 season he ran for the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League on the ice and posted a total of 23 points in 72 games. After another year in a minor league , this time with the Cleveland Lumberjacks in the International Hockey League , the left-handed shooter completed his first games for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League in the 2000/01 season and scored a scorer point in eleven games . In the same season, the attacker was also in 75 games for the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL in action recorded a total of 60 points scorer.
After two more years in which Hankinson was regularly on the ice for the Norfolk Admirals, he was not offered a contract extension at the end of the 2002/03 season. On July 25, 2003, the offensive player signed as a free agent with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim . In the 2003/04 season he was in four NHL games for the Californians in use and remained pointless. Hankinson spent most of the season with their farm team , the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks , in the American Hockey League and was one of the top performers. After his contract in Anaheim was not renewed, he signed on October 7, 2004 as a free agent at HC La Chaux-de-Fonds , where he was active in National League B and scored three points in four games. On December 3, 2004, Hankinson returned to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. Following this season, he ended his active career.
Hankinson has been a scout with the Anaheim Ducks since 2009 .
