Caspar Gras
Caspar Gras (* 1585 in Mergentheim ; † December 3, 1674 in Schwaz ) was an Austrian sculptor, bronze caster and representative of mannerism of German birth.
Life
Caspar Gras was born in Mergentheim in 1585 as the son of goldsmith Egidius Gras. In 1600 received a job as an apprentice at the court of Grand Master Maximilian of Austria in Mergentheim. Two years later he moved in Maximilian's entourage to Innsbruck, where Gras at court pursued his work as a sculptor and bronze caster and created his most important works.
