Caspar Risse (born November 22, 1850 in Voßwinkel , today Arnsberg , † January 25, 1923 in Düsseldorf ) was a German landscape and vedute painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Risse was born as the fifth child of the married couple Johann Peter and Anna Maria Margarethe Risse, née Osterhaus, on the Stockey in Vosswinkel. At the age of 16, he began studying at the Düsseldorf Art Academy on January 8, 1867 , which he finished in July 1873. There were Andreas Müller , Heinrich Lauenstein , Albert Flamm and Eugen Dücker his teachers. Risse stayed in the Dückers landscape class, where he achieved good grades, in 1872/1873. Risse lived in Düsseldorf until 1875, after which he moved to an unknown address. Not until 1902 is it tangible again in Düsseldorf. In 1905 he moved to Leutesdorf . In 1909 he returned to Düsseldorf, where he moved several times and died in his apartment at Friedrichsplatz 8 in 1923 .
